Home Bargains employer event

On October 27 we held a Recruitment Day with Home Bargains for our South London participants. Representatives from Home Bargains were present to tell attendees about their company as well as over thirty vacancies that they were advertising including Store Team Members, Bakers, and Garden Centre Team Members.

14 Better Working Futures and JETS participants were in attendance, and we are pleased to share that three jobs were offered on the day, with two of these going to Ukrainian refugees who have now secured their first jobs in UK.

South London Careers Fairs

During the first week of November, we held three consecutive Careers Fairs at our offices in Sutton, Merton, and Croydon to give Better Working Futures and JETS participants the opportunity to speak with employer’s face to face.

Representatives from local and national employers were invited to speak to our participants and tell them more about what they have to offer. Attendees then had the opportunity to register their interest in open vacancies. Employers in attendance included representatives from Verity Healthcare, Travelodge, Metropolitan Police, Busy Bees Nurseries, Clintons, and many more.

We also welcomed specialist training providers such as Strive Training who offered participants insight into the skills and education opportunities that they can take advantage of. Our team of Skills Trainers, Recruitment Managers and Employment Advisers were available throughout the day to support participants with approaching and speaking with employers, and to provide information about our in-house training and employability workshops.
