Returning to work – Ophelie’s story

Ophelie joined Better Working Futures for support with kickstarting her career again in property management. After taking time out of work to raise her family, she felt that her CV and job application methods needed further support.

Ophelie tells us in her own words, how she began her journey into work with support from Better Working Futures:

“When I joined Better Working Futures, I was feeling desperate and unmotivated after countless job applications and rejections. However, my experience took a positive turn thanks to my Employment Adviser Megan.

“Megan played a crucial role in changing my mindset and supporting my mental health. Her continuous reassurance and uplifting words helped me to stay positive. She also revamped my CV, helping me to create several tailored versions to suit different job applications, which increased the responses to jobs that I applied for. I began to receive interview invitations and this boosted my confidence.”

Our team of experienced Employment Advisers are on hand to support every step of the way. We ensure that participants are fully prepared and equipped for job interviews to enhance their chances of finding sustainable work.

“Megan and the team at Better Working Futures went above and beyond by searching online for different estate agents and even calling some to check if they were recruiting. One of the agents was local to their office, and with Megans encouragement, I visited them in person to enquire about a job, and I was invited to interview the very next day!”

Like Ophelie, many of our participants are supported financially with vouchers for smart interview clothes, or travel costs. This ensures that participants are not financially impacted by their transition into paid employment.

“I was successful, and they offered me a full-time position. I firmly believe that Megan’s dedication and extra effort were the main reasons why I was able to secure this job. Her support was invaluable, and I highly recommend their support to anyone who is seeking employment.

“The services from Reed in Partnership not only aid in job searching, but so much more. They provide essential mental health support that makes such positive change to a person’s confidence and mindset.”
